According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), the competent authorities of Vietnam and Australia are negotiating the export of Vietnamese grapefruit to the Australian market. Therefore, Vietnam still has great potential to export fruits and vegetables to Australia in the coming time.

Australia is a market with very strict technical barriers, labeling requirements, and food hygiene and safety, some standards are even higher than those of the United States and the EU. Therefore, to effectively exploit the Australian fruit market, Vietnam needs to strengthen the control of the quality of growing areas, improve the registration system, evaluate the granting of growing area codes, packaging facility codes, preliminary processing and processing codes. At the same time, continue to negotiate to open the market for agricultural products in general and fruits in particular to export to Australia.

The Vietnam Trade Office in Australia will continue to support Vietnamese companies and enterprises in learning about the market, the trade and investment situation, assessing the potential and investment and business environment in Australia for fruits and vegetables.

In addition, it will also update Australia's new policies and regulations on imported agricultural products. At the same time, it will guide and recommend businesses on solutions to access the market as well as notes for businesses to prevent trade fraud when doing business in Australia.
