More than 10 types of Vietnamese fruits and agricultural products have been officially imported into the world's largest population market - China. The latest is frozen durian. After each Protocol was signed for each type of agricultural product, export turnover to this market always increased strongly.

With other markets with strict standards such as Japan, the United States, the EU, Australia..., some fruits that have "visas" also recorded positive export growth rates. Not stopping at the achieved results, the negotiation and signing of agreements to open the export of these products are currently being promoted in the markets.

Recently, the working group of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and representatives of the US Department of Agriculture agreed to end technical discussions to move on to legal procedures for the US to import Vietnamese passion fruit, and at the same time initiate the process of reviewing new products such as seedless lemons, guava and jackfruit for export from Vietnam. With the potential Chinese market, many types of agricultural and aquatic products are being negotiated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for official export. Similarly, this activity is also promoted in other "difficult" markets.

Looking at reality, negotiating and signing agreements for Vietnamese fruits to be officially imported into high-standard markets is an important driving force for Vietnam's agricultural sector to develop in a modern and sustainable direction. Accordingly, relevant agencies need to further promote the opening of these difficult doors. In addition, the role of agricultural production and trading enterprises as well as farmers in improving the quality of fruits and other agricultural export products is indispensable.

Production and trading must strictly comply with regulations and fulfill the requirements set by the import market. This will help products with "visas" increase export turnover and increase trust and brand value for other agricultural products of the country's agricultural sector to access markets with the most stringent standards. In the context of increasing demands for clean, low-emission agricultural production, meeting the requirements of “demanding” importers is an important content to move towards “Net Zero” agriculture and sustainable development.
