The first shipment of Vietnam's processed chicken meat has been exported to South Korea, opening up further opportunities for the domestic livestock and food processing sector to access a high-standard market.

On August 25, at the CPV Food Binh Phuoc export chicken farming and processing complex (Dong Nai City) under C.P. Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company (C.P. Vietnam), an announcement ceremony was held for the export of Vietnam's first shipment of processed chicken meat to South Korea, more than 4 months after the two countries officially opened the market for this product.

This is not only C.P. Vietnam's first shipment but also marks the very first time Vietnam's processed chicken meat has been exported to the South Korean market.

Mr. Pawalit Ua-amornwanit, General Director of C.P. Vietnam, stated that introducing the product into South Korea demonstrates the increasingly elevated production and processing capabilities of enterprises in Vietnam, satisfying international market requirements. This also serves as a driving force for the enterprise to continue investing in technology, deep processing, and enhancing product value.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Duong Tat Thang, Director General of the Department of Livestock Production and Animal Health (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment), evaluated the opening of the processed chicken meat market between Vietnam and South Korea as an important milestone in bilateral agricultural cooperation.

According to Mr. Thang, C.P. Vietnam is the first enterprise to export this product to South Korea, thereby raising expectations that more eligible enterprises will participate, contributing to enhancing the export value of Vietnam's livestock and food processing industries.

To gain approval from South Korea, C.P. Vietnam underwent an 8-step evaluation process conducted by the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency (APQA) and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of South Korea. The enterprise had to complete two in-depth questionnaire dossiers, each approximately 1,000 pages, covering control requirements from farming areas, disease prevention, and slaughtering to processing, heat treatment, packaging, and transportation.

From July to December 2025, South Korean interdisciplinary inspection delegations conducted direct audits of the Feed - Farm - Food integrated model at CPV Food Binh Phuoc, including the feed mill, farm system, and processing plant.

Mr. Kim Hyun Woo, Agricultural Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam, considered that the recognition of C.P. Vietnam's product quality for entry into the South Korean market will contribute to promoting bilateral agricultural trade, while expressing hope that more Vietnamese products will access this market.

The CPV Food Binh Phuoc complex represents a total investment of approximately 250 million USD, operating under the Feed - Farm - Food model that comprises a feed mill, hatchery, farm system, slaughterhouse, and processing plant. End-to-end control throughout the chain enables the enterprise to ensure quality, food safety, and traceability.

With the milestone of exporting the first batch of processed chicken meat to South Korea, C.P. Vietnam's processed chicken meat continues to expand its footprint across 8 international markets, including many destinations with stringent standards such as Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong (China), and Russia.
