Vietnam has surpassed Thailand to become the largest supplier of fresh durian to the Taiwanese market, according to the latest import updates from this market.

The Trade Office of the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei stated that Vietnam has overtaken Thailand as the top supplier of fresh durian to the Taiwan market. Concurrently, the Trade Office informed domestic exporters of a list of several enterprises importing durian from Vietnam in recent times.

The list comprises 14 enterprises, including: Long Firm Trading Co., Ltd.; Enjoy Fruit Trading Co., Ltd.; Fou Ten Company; Honghui Life International Co., Ltd.; Lupin International Biotechnology Co., Ltd.; Nong Hsen Development Co., Ltd.; Z&C Fruit Trading Co., Ltd.; Very Fresh Inc.; Sheng Da Fruits Co., Ltd.; and Produce One Trading Company Ltd.

"In the first 7 months of 2026, durian exports brought in 1.77 billion USD, up 42% compared to the same period in 2025. China was the primary consumption market with a value of 1.65 billion USD, up 57% year-on-year."

The Trade Office noted that the list was compiled and cross-referenced from Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) data along with publicly authorized information from the market's business registration system.

Publishing this list helps export enterprises reference and proactively reach out to seek business cooperation opportunities.

Detailed data such as email addresses, websites, persons-in-charge, or direct contact information for procurement departments fall outside the scope of public disclosure.

Although Vietnamese durian is enjoying favorable conditions and robust growth in the Taiwan market, Vietnamese export enterprises are advised to place special emphasis on controlling quality and food safety—particularly regarding pesticide residues, heavy metals, and food safety parameters under Taiwan's regulations.

Ensuring products fully comply with Taiwan's regulations is a crucial factor in mitigating the risks of customs rejection, return of shipments, destruction orders, or the imposition of heightened control measures, thereby protecting corporate reputation and maintaining a stable market for Vietnamese durian in Taiwan.

Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports in July 2026 reached 1.08 billion USD, up 14.9% compared to June 2026 and up 40.6% compared to July 2025. This marks the first month since the beginning of 2026 that fruit and vegetable exports exceeded the 1 billion USD threshold.

For the first 7 months of 2026 combined, Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports reached 4.788 billion USD, up 23.6% compared to the same period in 2025.

China, the US, South Korea, Japan, and the Netherlands are Vietnam's largest fruit and vegetable export markets. Among these, China remains the largest export destination, accounting for 58.9% of the country's total commodity value, reaching 2.812 billion USD, up 33.1% year-on-year.

The US is the second-largest fruit and vegetable export market, reaching 361.1 million USD, up 14.4% compared to the same period in 2025. The South Korean and Japanese markets also recorded positive growth, reaching 201.4 million USD and 147.5 million USD, respectively, in the first 7 months of 2026, up 9.6% and 4.0% year-on-year.

Fruit and vegetable exports to Taiwan reached 104.2 million USD, an increase of 7.5% compared to the same period.
