Taiwan (China) is the key consumer market for Vietnamese oyster products
Vietnamese oyster products have been exported to more than 10 countries around the world, of which Taiwan (China) is the main consumer market.
According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers, after breakthrough growth in 2023, Vietnam's oyster exports will continue to prosper in the first 5 months of 2024. In May 2024 alone, the export value of this product group increased by 52%. Cumulatively in the first 5 months of 2024, Vietnam's oyster export value reached nearly 7 million USD, an increase of 31% over the same period in 2023.

Vietnam exports mainly fresh iced oysters to more than 10 countries around the world, most of which are countries in the Asian region.

Taiwan (China) is the key consumer market for Vietnamese oysters, with a proportion of up to 82% in the first 5 months of this year. In addition to Taiwan (China), Vietnam is strongly increasing oyster exports to Laos. In the first 5 months of this year, oyster exports to Laos increased 3 times compared to the same period in 2023, reaching more than 713 thousand USD.
In addition to oysters, Vietnam's export of mollusks such as scallops and snails also has significant growth in some markets. The export value of these two commodity groups in the first 5 months of this year is increasing by 42% and 18% respectively over the same period.
