Polish enterprises are increasing efforts to source agricultural products and food from Vietnam, including commodities such as shrimp and pepper.

This information was highlighted by Mr. Tomasz Parzybut, President of the Association of Polish Meat Processors, at a recent event under the "Taste Europe" campaign framework in Ho Chi Minh City. According to him, Polish enterprises maintain demands to increase purchases of agricultural products and food from Vietnam.

Specifically, one of Poland's leading beef producers is working with partners in Ho Chi Minh City to explore shrimp supplies for a burger concept. Another company dedicated an entire day to exploring opportunities to import pepper from Vietnam.

According to Customs data, Vietnam's agricultural and food group exports (seafood, coffee, tea, pepper...) to Poland reached nearly 138 million USD in the first half of this year, up 4.3% compared to the same period in 2025. Export turnover for both seafood and pepper surged by up to 43%, reaching over 21 million USD and 10 million USD respectively.

Mr. Piotr Harasimowicz, Chief Representative in Ho Chi Minh City of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH, under the Polish Ministry of Economic Development and Technology), stated that products heavily purchased by Poland from Vietnamese enterprises include rice, coffee, noodles, coconuts, and seafood. He evaluated that economic cooperation potential in this sector remains far from fully exploited.

Polish agricultural and food products are also increasingly expanding access to the Vietnamese market. In the first half of the year, Vietnam's imports of seafood, milk, and dairy products from Poland reached nearly 36.7 million USD, up 73.5% compared to the same period last year.

Growth momentum stemmed primarily from milk and dairy products, with turnover more than doubling (122.6%). Pork and apples are also increasingly embraced by Vietnamese consumers. Mr. Tomasz shared that Polish frozen pork exported to Vietnam rose by 34% last year.

Meanwhile, approximately 1,500 tons of Polish apples appeared in supermarkets last year, according to Ms. Bożena Wróblewska, President of the Executive Board of the Promotion Agency under the Polish Chamber of Commerce. "We expect volume to continue growing this year," she stated. Poland currently stands as the largest apple producer in the EU.

Last year, the value of Polish agricultural and food exports to Vietnam reached nearly 230 million EUR. Within which, exports of live animals and animal-origin products occupied over 201 million EUR, according to Statistics Poland (GUS).

Mr. Andrzej Arendarski, President of the Polish Chamber of Commerce, evaluated Southeast Asia as a strategic growth market. Within the region, Vietnam stands out thanks to its fast-growing economy and long-standing business relationships with Poland.
