Four agricultural export items reached billions of USD in the third quarter of 2024
In the third quarter of 2024, according to data from the General Statistics Office (GSO), the total export turnover of Vietnam's agricultural products reached 6.79 billion USD.
Fruits and vegetables continued to bring in the largest export turnover with 2.31 billion USD, recording an increase of 50.6% compared to the same period last year.
Along with the 10% increase in volume, cashew nut export turnover in the quarter also increased by 27%, reaching 190,000 tons and 1.2 billion USD, respectively.
In the billion USD group, Vietnam also earned 1.12 billion USD from exporting coffee and rice with 1.46 billion USD, up 52.6% and 14% respectively compared to the same period last year. The amount of rice exported in the quarter also increased by 11.7%, to 2.44 million tons. However, the amount of coffee exported decreased by 12.1%, to 215,000 tons.


In addition to the above-mentioned group of agricultural exports with a turnover of billion USD, in the third quarter of 2024, it is noteworthy that the amount of pepper exported increased by 10.9% over the same period last year (reaching 59,000 tons) but the turnover increased by 80.7% to 360 million USD.
The amount of tea exported also reached 44,000 tons, an increase of 31.7% over the same period last year, bringing the turnover of this item to 80 million USD, an increase of 34.5%.
In the quarter, cassava and cassava products were exported to 529,000 tons, down 15.9% over the same period last year. The export turnover of this item also decreased by 16.4% to 249 million USD.
Regarding the production situation, in the third quarter of 2024, despite being affected by storm No. 3, the overall crop harvest situation still achieved good results. Specifically, the output of harvested tea buds reached 398,900 tons, down 3.9% over the same period last year; rubber reached 467,600 tons, up 3.4%; coconut reached 526,200 tons, up 6.4%...
The output of durian harvested in the quarter also reached 511,900 tons, up 16.6% over the same period; dragon fruit reached 95,600 tons, up 4.3%; mango reached 222,000 tons, up 4%; orange reached 564,800 tons, up 2.2%...
