Chili prices increased

Type 1 chili peppers (meeting export standards) are being sold by farmers in many places to traders and chili purchasing warehouses at 19,000 - 20,000 VND/kg, while previously it was at 16,000 - 17,000 VND/kg.

Grade 1 yellow chili pepper was priced from 27,000 - 29,000 VND/kg, now increased to 32,000 - 35,000 VND/kg. Chili prices increased due to high demand and reduced supply because people in many places reduced planting; as well as because recently the productivity and output of many chili gardens have decreased due to hot weather and unfavorable weather conditions for plants.

Avocado 034 crop failed, price dropped sharply

This year, Dak Nong farmers are entering the avocado harvest with a lot of anxiety as this crop has both failed and its price has dropped.

Farmers here said that this year, their family's avocado garden only reached about 20 tons of fruit/ha, down about 9 tons/ha compared to every year.

The reason the avocado crop failed was due to unfavorable weather. In particular, it rained and was windy during the flowering period of avocado tree 034, so the number of fruit was low.

Not only was the yield of 034 avocado low, but initial consumption was also not very favorable. Currently, the selling price at the garden is about 12,000 VND/kg, 4 thousand VND/kg lower than last year.

According to owners of avocado purchasing warehouses in Dak R'lap district (Dak Nong), the price of avocados is currently not high, and even tends to decrease compared to last year. The saddest thing is the price of 034 avocado, which is considered a specialty of avocados but the price has decreased quite a lot. Furthermore, prices are low and supply is not as abundant as usual, and avocado quality is not as high.

Mangosteen price decreased by 10,000 VND/kg over the same period

According to information from mangosteen growers in Kien Giang province, this year mangosteen bears fruit late, productivity decreases by 20-30%, and the price also decreases by an average of 10,000 VND/kg compared to the same period in 2023.

At the end of April 2024, the retail price of ripe mangosteen at the garden is 90,000 VND/kg (8-9 fruits/kg). By May 14, the price of ripe mangosteen decreased to 40,000 - 50,000 VND/kg.

According to mangosteen growers in Kien Giang, the price of mangosteen will further decrease when the harvest is in full swing.

This year's hot weather caused mangosteen to fruit late and output also decreased by about 20 - 30% compared to last year. Currently, ripe mangosteen at the garden sells for 40,000 - 45,000 VND/kg, down about 10,000 VND/kg compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, green mangosteen is no longer sought after like last year, but in some ecological gardens; On social networks, many individual accounts still sell live mangosteen at prices ranging from 90,000-100,000 VND/kg with the shell intact. Pre-peeled green-fleshed mangosteen costs 350,000 - 400,000 VND/kg, down about 200,000 VND/kg compared to the same period last year.

Domestic coffee decreased slightly

Coffee prices today (May 15) in the domestic market decreased slightly, a decrease of about 200 - 300 VND/kg. Currently, the average purchase price in the Central Highlands provinces is 100,600 VND/kg, the highest purchase price in Dak Lak province is 100,800 VND/kg.

Specifically, the price of coffee purchased in Gia Lai province and Kon Tum province is 100,200 VND/kg; In Dak Nong province, coffee is purchased at a price of 100,700 VND/kg.

Price of green coffee beans (green coffee, fresh green coffee) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha, coffee is purchased at a price of 99,700 VND/kg.

Coffee price today in Dak Lak province; In Cu M'gar district, coffee is purchased at about 100,700 VND/kg, while in Ea H'leo district, Buon Ho town is purchased at the same rate of 100,800 VND/kg.

According to the latest records, coffee prices on the world market simultaneously decreased with Arabica decreasing by more than 1%.

The price of Arabica coffee delivered in July 2024 in New York was at 194.05 UScents/pound after a decrease of 1.02%.

Accordingly, Dak Lak pepper price was purchased at 104,000 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday's price, Chu Se pepper price (Gia Lai) is currently at 103,000 VND/kg; also increased by 1,000 VND/kg, Dak Nong pepper price today recorded a slight increase of 500 VND/kg, to a price of 103,500 VND/kg.
