Agricultural exports hit many new records
Not only coffee, prices of many agricultural export products such as durian, cocoa, rice, and pepper are all high, contributing to the record export turnover of many items this year.
Over 62.5 billion USD is the export value of agricultural, forestry and fishery products this year. This is the highest figure ever. This result has helped the agricultural sector reach the finish line 6 years ahead of the target set in Project 174, on promoting agricultural, forestry and fishery exports approved by the Government.
After a challenging year when the world market fluctuated strongly, overcoming natural disasters, last year, the agricultural sector not only firmly ensured domestic food security, but a series of key agricultural products also set new records in export. Agriculture continues to be a bright spot in the economy.
In the last days of the year, in the Central Highlands, wherever you go, you can see the joyful and radiant images of coffee growers. For the first time, Vietnamese coffee is the most expensive in the world. Harvest time is also the time when farmers reap great results.
Ms. Y Ya Vong - Dak Ha District, Kon Tum said: "Prices have increased compared to last year, so people are very enthusiastic and happy when distributors buy at high prices."

For the first time, Vietnamese coffee is the most expensive in the world
Not only coffee, the prices of many agricultural export products such as durian, cocoa, rice, pepper are all high, contributing to the record export turnover of many items this year. Opening new markets such as the Middle East, Africa, expanding official exports in traditional markets such as the United States and China also contributed to creating momentum for many agricultural products to grow dramatically.
Mr. Phung Duc Tien - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development commented: "The market is identified as a tractor, with a tractor, production is the push. We have a market system, a processing system and there is still room to maintain growth momentum".
Exports set a record, but last year, Vietnam received more than 1,000 notices of adjustment of food safety inspection frequency from importing countries, the highest ever. This shows that there are still many gaps in adapting to the trend of increasing quality control from demanding markets.
Mr. Ngo Xuan Nam - Deputy Director of the Vietnam SPS Office, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development shared: "If we keep chasing the export race, the value like this but unfortunately forget the story of food safety, it will affect the reputation of the industry, affecting the general reputation of Vietnamese agricultural products. Production areas must produce according to market signals and requirements".
Exports of agricultural product groups are expected to grow well in 2025 when the world's demand for imported food and food continues to increase. The Vietnamese agricultural sector not only needs to take advantage of the immediate opportunities but also thoroughly solve internal problems to go further on the world agricultural map.
